Well … It’s always nice to hear marv’lous Multimarket news and recently I received this email from Nev Saunders on the sale of his beautiful Wharram, Alii-Nui… "Hi Jo - An update on Alii-Nui. Sold! I am very happy for a couple of reasons - firstly that yes, it sold, and I sincerely believe for a mutually happy deal. Second is that she has gone to great owners. They are taking her to Noosa as soon as there is a break in the Soueasters. And there is a silver lining for you folks - the buyer saw your ad in the magazine, so thank you. Sad to let her go, but it was time." Us? Nev said he thought about building another multi but doesn’t have the time and considered a mono but…"Maybe a monomaran? Arrgh says my wife, they lean on their sides and you cant get into anywhere with that lump hanging off the bottom..!" Ha! Thanks so much Nev for sharing your sale-ing success and hope you find another boat sometime in the future. Also nice is when you catch up with old friends from the water. We had lost Ray and Sonjas contact details but recently found them again when my sister in real estate in Cairns listed their house for sale! Also now moved ashore and 'catless', they also treasure their time aboard their Fastback and we all revelled in the memory of an unforgettable Christmas Day spent in Macona Inlet in the Whitsundays…Crystal clear day and water, fresh oysters and seafood, a bunch of fellow cruisers lounging around on white sand and our multis bobbing beyond… heaven. Such memories are what it’s all about – and never fade whether you swallow the anchor – or go mono! To all contemplating the glorious alternative of a life afloat – Just Do It – and get that album of halcyon days happening soon! Have a Good One… Jo
